One for the Ladies!

As the Men's Fight Club Boot Camp is fast approaching (which you need to make sure your man is booked in for!), I decided that maybe us ladies needed a little pick me up so as to not feel left out!

Some days are really great days, you wake up and can't wait to get into the day.  Other days, which are unfortunately more often, you get up knowing the grind you are going to have to go through.  I woke this morning unsure of which of these days I was going to have, although knowing that my house was in a bit of a state (actually 'a bit' is quite an understatement) I was thinking it was going to be a long drag of a day.  Thankfully, my darling husband got up and got breakfast for our son, although after the two of them having breakfast there was but a drop of milk left over for yours truly... hmm... first blow of the day.

So, after seeing my man off to work, I proceeded to make up some powdered milk, not my finest choice knowing that my breakfast would have milk the same temp at tap water, but I knew I had to eat to get through the morning.  (Should probably mention that its leading up to pay day, hence no groceries.) So, there I was making powdered milk and through a process I won't go into, I managed to get a bit on the bench, as I picked up the large cup of milk with a lid on, I quickly realised that the lid was NOT on.  I found this out when milk poured all over my kitchen, down the cupboards into drawers (don't even know how) and all over me too of course!  Blow two of the day.

My mind, completely stopped at this point as I tried to figure out what to do first.  Should I shower, clean up, make more milk.  Thankfully it kicked into gear and I decided a clean up is first.  So I did as much as I could and then made more milk, ate and showered.  After my shower I cleaned up more so as not to have the lovely aroma of milk hanging around and wondered how the rest of my day would pan out.  I wasn't very hopeful.  However God had other plans - THANKFULLY!

Within minutes, my phone chimed with a message from one of my dear friends saying, "Over it! I'm getting a coffee after the school run if you're keen."   Ahhh, another who hadn't had a great start to the day!  SAVED!  I then did the necessary thing of going out when my house was in shambles and went and had coffee.  Even though we had 3 kids between us in tow, we managed to perk up our spirits enough to get through the rest of our day!  I came home and looked around and wondered where and how to start with my mess.  I thought, "Hmm, I need music!"  Mamma Mia? No.  Sister Act? No. Colin Buchanan? No.  Something calming? No.  Then I spotted it! My all time favorite band and album... Superchick - Rock What You Got!  YES!!!  On it went and off I went.  I mean I really went off, Asher thought I was crazy dancing around sweeping, mopping and even cleaning walls (I think that shocked him as he has never seen me really do that!).

I love every song they have ever made, but on this album in particular there is an awesome song called "So Beautiful".  The lyrics are really powerful for us as women to remember.  There is a small part in the song that everytime I hear I just wish every woman could hear and know to be true.  It states, "If every girl could see her beauty, we would be an army!"  WOW right!  How powerful would we all be if we really could see our beauty!  Day to day we sometimes miss our beauty that God has given us, and we also can feel like we are alone, but God has made us not only beautiful, but He has also created special sisters for us to be our mirrors and to stand on the ugliest of days (or mornings).  How awesome is that!!!

So my sisters, I am letting you know - you ARE beautiful and you are NOT alone!!!

You can listen to the whole song here at youtube.

Here below are the lyrics...

So Beautiful - Superchick
We are a thousand voices strong

We are each girl who sings this song
We are a beauty that is our own
And we are, And we are
So beautiful

We are light
We were born beautiful
We were meant to be more then these shadows of girls
They cut us down to size
Afraid we'll change the world?
But we'll fight for your right to be beautiful girls

If every girl could see her beauty,
We would be an army

We have dreams we were born to fufill
We were meant to be more than just fairy tale girls
We are the colors so bright
Each beautiful girl
We are the stars in the night
And we're changing the world

When every girl can see her beauty,
We will be an army
